We tend to know composting as large piles of awful smelling bio-degradable trash that sits in the sun until it turns to fertilizer, not exactly appealing I know. However unappealing this may seem, we all know that composting is actually really great for the environment and goes right up there with recycling. There are a few reasons most people choose not to compost, the first being the smell and work necessary and the other being. the space that composting requires. For those of us who lack the luxury of a backyard, composting isn’t even something we consider, but I just wanted to let you know that composting can in fact be a very simple non-time consuming venture. It would actually only take you about 5 to 10 minutes a week to keep up a compost pile in your apartment and no you don’t have to keep worms in your apartment either! Check out the video below to get an idea of just how simple apartment and small space composting can be! Then head out grab your supplies and do your part for our little green planet right from the comfort of your kitchen!
Tip: When storing your compost consider putting the container on a tray under the sink.
